Ban guns, than knives, than people….

There is a lot of talk about a proposed revising of the regulations on knives. One which it is claimed will redefine most knives with assistant opening devices (ie: little knobs on the base of the blades, etc) as switchblades. Making them illegal. In fact, according to, they claim that it may eliminate the legal possession of all folding knives that can be opened with one hand.

I’ve kind of delayed posting on this. Because I wanted to find a bit more substantiation. As most point to post. Of course I haven’t seen anything in the MSM (but don’t really expect I would). So I have decided to post the link to the article.

As an advocate for the 2nd Amendment, I have long cautioned that it is the right to bear arms. And have criticized the fact that we focus solely on firearms. Frankly, I believe that Americans have lost so much ground in regards to the 2nd Amendment that we don’t even realize it.

Knives have been regulated. And just try to walk around with a sword. Is there a more basic personal arm than the sword?

Below is a letter I am sending off to my representatives:

I am greatly disturbed by rumors I am hearing about proposed changes under the U.S. Customs & Borders Protections. To the effect of re-defining the definition of a “switch blade” so as to restrict and make illegal a great many common knives.

Maybe you’re unaware…but we have a 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms. The term arms while encompassing firearms is NOT limited to just that premise. But also includes knives, swords, and pitchforks.

Frankly, I am growing very very uncomfortable with recent trends in our government. Calls for bans on semi-auto rifles and handguns. Now attempts to limit knife ownership.  And combined with Homeland Security reports defining average Americans who go to church, are pro-life, served in the military, etc as potential extremist threats to the government.

Meanwhile, it appears that there is an increasing trend to whittle away our Constitutional rights. If the government is viewing it’s people as a threat, than perhaps our government has become a threat to the People.

I ask you to please stand up for our most basic and precious rights. The rights of free speech, freedom to worship (or not worship) as we choose, and the right to defend ourselves from brigands and tyranny.

And here are my thoughts toward Obama.

Dear Mr. Obama,

Please…quit pissing me off. It’s bad enough the price on the firearms I want have sky-rocketed thanks to you and your stated goals of banning them.

But now you’re going to jack up the prices of knives, right have been contemplating picking a few up.

Can you please stop….your destroying the nation I have loved.
