What’s Next from RUGER?

I don’t know, but we’ll find out in just over 1 day.

Ruger’s got another countdown going on over at their website.

There was a lot of banter a while back regarding the possibility of a Ruger 1911 platform.  Some said it was coming, others claim they were adamantly told it was not.

It has been pointed out that the black metal steel grating image behind the countdown would point toward the new product being in the tactical/self-defense line.

So what is it?

I don’t know….but there is an area for which Ruger doesn’t have ANYTHING in the market.  A tactical shotgun.  Why not? Ruger does make shotguns, and they are now making more tactical firearms.  A robust and reliable tactical shotgun from Ruger would provide an affordable alternative to the Mossberg 500 vs Remington 870 debate.

Not saying that’s what it is. Just saying that is something Ruger SHOULD add to their line up.

  1. With Winchester kind of gone the way of the Dodo, I think I’d agree with you! It would be nice to have another viable choice in the eternal 870 vs. 590 debate. I’m guessing this “What’s next?” won’t be anything too major or unsuspected, much like their SR-22 wasn’t really a new gun. Either an SR40, or a polymer framed 1911, if I had to guess. But your idea is so much better…
