Just more proof that we have too many laws….

11 Ridiculous Laws
http://www.rd.com/slideshows/11-ridiculous-laws/

There are hundreds, if not thousands of these type of silly, archaic laws.

But some are not. Consider the following: The number of pages of federal tax rules and regulations has increased by 18,000% since 1913.

I think the problem is that there is little avenue or incentive to ever review, assess or remove laws. And every legislator feels it’s their God given duty to pass new ones.

  1. Well…they are called “legislators”

The way they see it, passing new laws is in the job description.

Don’t see it ending any time soon.

  2. I do not disagree. And I think that’s part of the problem. I very much liked Robert A. Heinlein’s proposa that the Senate not pass laws, but rescind them.

I think we need a balance….lest in another 200 years we’ll have we’ll have 100 million laws on the books.

Perhaps all laws require a 10 year sunset period?

    🙂
