So the other night my wife and kids were eating dinner. The conversation went like thus:
My daughter (age 4): “Mommy, where do ribs come from? strangers or bad guys?”
My Wife: “Where do you think they come from?”
My daughter: Nonchalantly…”People”
That’s right bad guys beware….you’re now on the MENU!!!!!
There is a certain logic in my daughter’s reasoning. She knows “She has ribs.” And so it follows that “People have ribs”. And if we’re eating people’s ribs we’re not going to eat friends or nice people, so the ribs must come from either “strangers or bad guys”.
Most disturbing is the fact that my daughter was in no way disturbed by the thought of eating people’s ribs. Thankfully, my wife didn’t respond “They come from old people like Great-Grandma.”
