Our Side vs Them (the double-standard)

Perhaps this my number one gripe against progressives, the Democrat Party and the like. Is that I always view them to wield a double-standard.

In the past, the criticism was made about the NRA having an insider placed inside the gun control camp.  Anti-gunners still make cries against Mary McFate and how insidious the “pro-gunners” groups are that they would spy.

Okay, let’s not even address the fact that they have numerous “spies” on their side. Be it Michael Moore and his NRA membership, or FFL licenses for the sole purpose of sneaking into trade shows.

But how does Mary McFate’s case stack up to the behaviors of the “anti-gunners”?

Well, there used to be an organization called AHSA. American Hunters & Shooters Association. The consensus amongst most of the gun owner community is that it was a shrill and a front.

A recent Washington Post article pretty much confirms that the sole purpose of the AHSA was to get Democrats, and in particular, one Barack Obama – elected.

Hmm…so it’s okay for the leftist progressive anti-gunners to create entirely fraudulent organizations. That’s totally fine morally to them. But how dare we just keep an eye on them and their actions of intolerance.  One observer inside their infrastructure versus an entire organization based upon lies and deceit. Which is worse?

And that’s a difference that I think always makes it harder for our side. Our opponents believe in an “ends justifies the means”. Anything they do, no matter how insidious is just fine, so long as it further’s their cause. Because they believe their cause is right.

Where as us, we tend to try to keep a more upright stance. It puts us in a position of having to wage a war against lies. Which is hard, when most of the mainstream media is willing to regurgitate their lies because they agree.

There has been much talk about gun blogging being a tad slow. We’ve not had to fight as hard, we’ve had some major victories, and even some positive press support (here and there).

And while that may lead to less blogging, less topics, etc.  We must always be vigilant. I assure my readers, that while this blog and other gun blogs may go a bit silent from time to time, we will rise up if and when we’re needed.

Knowing who & who NOT to vote for – courtesy of the AHSA front group…

Recently the  AHSA (infamous ant-gun front group) announced several endorsements.  Below are the NRA ratings for the candidates. Please note the italicized candidates are the AHSA endorsements and the bold are the NRA endorsements.

Only one of the AHSA endorsed candidates received an “A” rating, Harry Teague – and that individual’s campaign has contacted me to state that they have rejected the endorsement of the AHSA. The extremely low ratings of the other three candidatates call them into serious question.

New York
District 29

District 2

District 1

New Mexico
District 2
(D) HARRY TEAGUE – AQ (based on NRA questionnaire response)  *

*NOTE – Harry Teague’s campaign contacted me regarding this post to inform me that they have rejected the AHSA endorsement.  A listing of Teague’s endorsements can be found here – the AHSA is note listed among them. Teague’s campaign wanted to re-emphasize that the highest rating a non-incumbant can receive is an AQ (based on the questionaire).  And that Teague is an avid hunter.  I have updated this post accordingly. I am inquiring if the Harry Teague campaign has a press release on this matter.

In other news from AHSA, the notorius anti-gunner John Rosenthal resigned from the board after his presence made to clear of a connection between the AHSA & gun control groups.

American Hunters and Shooters Association

You may have heard a recent Obama add that is trying to portray Obama as having the support of gun owners and hunters. It features a speaker from the AHSA.

If you are unaware of AHSA, it is a relatively new organization started around 2005. It is essentially a front organization for the anti-gun lobby (Handgun Control Inc/Brady Campaign).   Almost all the leadership involved have a history of being  heavily involved with and/or donating toward anti-gun organizations and legislation.

For documentation on this fact you can see a number of resources:

A thought….

I’d love to get a copy of the organization’s by-laws. And see if it would be possible to take over the organization by having a member call for a no-confidence vote in the leadership and vote on new leadership.
