STOP IT!!!! You’re buying too many….

Article on Yahoo talking about the increased gun sales leading up to a potential second Obama term. They share a few reasons people believe that the guns sales have increased so much. Of note, they talk about how companies such as Ruger have ran into production capacity issues, even after ramping up production, and have had to decline new ordes as they’ve already exceeded in excess of a million firearm orders.

Two years ago we had ammo shortages, ammo prices skyrocketed. When ammo became available againt the prices dropped slightly but for the most part ammo just became available, it didn’t become much cheaper.

Sure hope we don’t see a similar occurrence with firearms themselves.

White Rose Friends of the NRA Dinner

Toward the end of last year I began to take a more pro-active role with regards to the 2nd Amendment. It included, among other things, this blog. I also joined our local Friends of the NRA committee.

For those unfamiliar with Friends of the NRA (more info here) –  it’s a grassroots fundraising organization that provides grants for hunting and shooting activities, clubs, and programs.

Friends of the NRA puts on fundraising banquests and dinners across the nation. There are raffles, auctions, games and prizes. I had never attended such an event prior to joining the committee. But decided to attend a nearby banquet in Lancaster, PA back in February. The Lancaster Friends of the NRA dinner also happens to be one of the largest in the nation. This gave me an idea of what to expect for our own local and somewhat smaller banquet which was held April 30th.

Our committee spent a fair part of the day setting up and preparing for the dinner. My wife joined me for the actual dinner. We had a good time, but alas I still have yet to win one of the many handguns and rifles that were up for auction.

Here are some photos of our event…

Winter League’s “Zombie Shoot”

During the recent winter league competition at Freedom Armory we shot Kenn Blanchard’s “Zombie Targets”.  These went over really well and were a lot of fun.

Here were the shoots…little “Susie” survived most of us. But a few of us (including myself) put rounds right into her skull cap.

ProArms Podcast takes out some Zombies…!!!

We just shot these targets at our last local league shoot. Was a lot of fun, sadly, during that shoot I wound up taking little Susie out – oops!!!

Hopefully I’ll have photos from our recent league shoot too.

PS – I shot the Zombie 2.5 targets on my own a few weeks back, you can see the results here
